DIA.T‘s music is unique, born from the unprecedented meeting of Marina Razanasoa ‘s Malagasy singing, Gilles Le Bigot‘s Celtic guitar and Gurvan Liard‘s electro-acoustic hurdy-gurdy.
Since 2017, the trio has come together to create a repertoire that today reveals a finely chiseled blend.
Starting from the traditional Malagasy repertoire, the musicians then turned to Marina’s compositions to now devote themselves to a co-writing of songs (texts and music). This tailor-made work gave birth to a singular musical universe delicately woven by the three musicians who now evolve on stage with a great complicity.
The roots are deep and multiple, the foliage dense and colorful. The influences are Malagasy, Breton, African or European. It is this multi-cultural mixture which makes the singularity of DIA.T and which inscribes this trio in the ‘world music’ of ethnic inspiration.
