Karen Lano
Folk poet, born to a French father and a German-Hungarian mother, Karen Lano recorded her first album in New York.
When it comes out, it is selected by FIP, Coup de coeur Fnac, Label Inrocks and takes Karen on the roads to meet her audience.
Rich in this experience, she writes music that she imagines as tales, poems that speak of our shadow areas, brought to light.
Its repertoire is forged on a theme around rebirth and beauty.
This folk artist combines texts in French and music with Anglo-Saxon influences.
A universe tinged with dreamlike stories which could be situated at the crossroads of Kate Bush, Camille, Bon Iver or Agnès Obel.
It’s music that lends itself to atypical places.
The album “Muses” was released in 2021, was recorded in the church of Graveron-Sémerville near Evreux, and produced by the duo of folk musicians Facteurs Chevaux in collaboration with Jean Baptiste Brunhes (Emily Loizeau, Bertrand Belin, Arthur H,…).
